PAPA’s selective Media Dept internships are open to college students who express a true interest in becoming more familiar with the media world.
Candidates are required to have a basic understanding of each position including, Media Coordinator, Planner, Buyer & Director. It would also be beneficial to have been exposed to related references such as Nielsen Ratings, Arbitron Ratings, etc. Necessary characteristics are the ability to multi-task, detail oriented, ability to articulate clearly and enjoy interacting/negotiating with sales reps, communicating with clients, analyze statistics/research data and possess extreme organizational skills.
Successful candidates will be invited to participate in an internship ranging from four to 12 weeks, dependent on agency needs and student availability. Compensation is offered at the sole discretion of the agency and is based strictly on contribution to agency success.
Responsibilities of PAPA Media Dept interns may include:
- Assistance with market research
- Analyze ratings, circulation audits, coverage maps, etc
- Request media kits
- Screen sales calls
- Preparing spreadsheets & flow charts
- Assistance with maintaining files
- Extracting reports from Strata (media buying software)
